PHILIP MORATH

Philip Morath, a graduate of the Aarhus School of Architecture (Denmark), is one of two 2024 Kompas Fellows. Throughout his academic career, Philip has focused on a nuanced approach to collaboration. He keenly understands that through design there is always a story to tell.

During his fellowship, Philip will work to identify a framework for the design of landmarks within the urban environment. His research will involve categorizing landmark typologies and considering specific qualities and characteristics of these typologies. By studying Chicago’s landmarks, he aims to create a universal framework applicable to both new and existing landmarks across diverse contexts.

As a Kompas Fellow, Philip will gain hands-on experience as part of a design studio. He will contribute to the firm’s projects, enriching his fellowship through direct involvement in real-world architectural work.
