Beatriz Vezzaro Britto, a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, is one of two 2024 Kompas Fellows. Throughout her academic career, Beatriz has explored the dynamics of multi-functional spaces, investigating how spaces can transform and serve various purposes for different users.
During her fellowship, Beatriz will focus on the impact of transportation on the built environment. Her research will examine how successful projects integrate transportation to benefit residents. By studying Chicago’s public transportation systems, she aims to identify alternatives, adaptations, and accommodations that can inform future design solutions.
As a Kompas Fellow, Beatriz will gain hands-on experience as a member of a design studio. She will contribute to the firm’s urban-based, transit-oriented projects, enhancing her fellowship through active participation in real-world architectural endeavors.
