Angel tang

A graduate of University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Angel Tang is the 2019 Kompas Fellow. Before pursuing a career in architecture, Angel began her undergraduate studies as a student in the Cognitive Science program. This unique educational background was the catalyst of her design philosophy that architecture is a multi-sensory experience.

During her fellowship year, Angel plans to explore design solutions for visual-impairment issues within a built, urban environment, using Chicago as her main resource. More specifically, she plans on learning more from Chicago Lighthouse, a vision-loss care center – the only one of its kind in the Midwest. She is hopeful that with the information she gains through this research, she’ll be able to communicate her ideas to patients and professionals who can share their valuable knowledge and experience.

Contributing to Myefski Architects’ diverse portfolio of projects as an Architectural Intern provides a rare opportunity for Angel to gain real-world experience, while simultaneously enhancing her research by working side-by-side with practicing professionals.
